Workshop Fitter / Fabricator Part-on Tools Ltd – Kings Norton B38 Salary negotiable based on experience.

 

Experienced Mechanical Fitter/ Fabricator required for a busy Structural manufacturing company.

Part-on are a fast growing aluminium structural frame manufacturer. We specialise in all aspects of industrial, structural aluminium fabrications. Our production offerings stretch from standard workstations to fully built and installed production cells. We also have a vested interest in the supply of material handling solutions and bespoke machine builds. But that is not all! we offer any custom or bespoke built available from the use of or versatile aluminium product, built to the customers request.

  • Solid experience in a fitter/fabricator role
  • Able to read engineering drawings (details and assembly)
  • Use of various workshop machinery
  • Produce and check design drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings utilizing 3D CAD. – Solidworks training passport available – gaining certification.
  • Commit to supporting our customers on site (including offshore) as required.
  • Create and maintain business system part numbers and product structure
  • Understands materials, bearings, fixings and other assembly critical components
  • Understanding of machining tolerances and fits etc
  • Understanding of engineering procedures and fabrication processes
  • Ensure to provide cost efficient and safe design and development of standard and non-standard products.
  • Close liaison with proposals and sales teams to ensure specifications and customer requirements are fully met, from initial enquiry to commission.
  • Carry out and check design calculations to satisfy all aspects of design integrity in compliance with company design procedures and external design codes.
  • Previous experience using manual lathes and milling machines (not essential)
  • Strong planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to take direction and work as an integral member of a small team
  • Work in a manner that protects the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others
  • Able to work to a deadline
  • Weekend working when required
  • Full clean Drivers licence

Required Capabilities

  • NVQ or above. Or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 1 years relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Proficient in using 3D computer aided design.
  • Proficient with MS office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ambitious and driven to the highest standard.

£ Salary negotiable based on experience based on suitability and experience within this role.
