A New G.L. Huyett Heritage Hero Image

In our 110-year history we have seen many changes. Guy Huyett, our founder and a known entrepreneur, once purchased the cargo of a ship grounded off the coast of New Jersey. The cargo, because of exposure to salty air, was rusty nails. Guy packaged the parts into small boxes and sold them as “Guy’s Rusty Nails” at a deep discount. The concept went over well in the Dirty ‘30s following The Great Depression.
In the spirit of such heritage, we are pleased to release our
Heritage Industrial™
brand of cotter pins (both standard and hammerlock), bridge pins, and hair pins. We have studied the market carefully and found that the currently available product does not possess the quality needed to ensure safe installation and use. As cotter pins are traditionally inserted into a hole by hand, a sharp burr on the end can scratch the mating part – which can be important if the part is painted or plated. And, operators installing these pins can cut their fingers on the burrs.
Heritage Industrial cotter pins and hammerlock cotter pins are designed with a carefully maintained diameter and feature a special safety-tip that eases installation while reducing the risk for operator injury, or damage to mating parts. They are manufactured in a black phosphate finish, RoHS-compliant trivalent zinc coating, stainless steel, and brass. A full range of sizes is available, beginning with 1 mm and 1/32” diameters. Additional sizes are available upon request for special orders.
Heritage Industrial™ bridge pins and hair pins are formed precisely and match all of the traditional profiles in use. They are manufactured on high-speed equipment and processed in a leaned-out production facility. Parts are manufactured using steel spring wire with zinc plating and stainless steel for marine and outdoor applications. The net result is that Heritage Industrial bridge pins are priced attractively. In an environment of rising commodity and steel prices, Heritage Industrial bridge pins can provide relief and cost savings.
